3rd Miłosz Festival, Kraków


Outstanding poets, writers, critics and academics from 11 countries, including Argentina, the USA, Germany, Russia, China, Slovenia and Iceland, will come to Kraków to take part in the Miłosz Festival that will be held between the 16th and 19th of May.

The guiding topic of this year’s edition of the festival will be "The Land of Urlo," which is one of the most important, and very personal, essays of Czesław Miłosz.  For the author, it was an attempt at understanding the situation in the world of literature of the second half of the 20th century, and more universally, the spiritual situation of contemporary man.  For readers, it can be a guide for deeper understanding of the works that Miłosz considered important.

The program of the 3rd Miłosz Festival will consist of poetry evenings, panel discussions, concerts, film shows, and something that readers anticipate the most -- meeting with authors.  The Festival Centre will be located in the Małopolska Art Garden for 4 days.  For more information about invited guests and a detailed program, check the official festival website:
